Rath-Yatra

Ratha Yatra 2024

Dear devotees of Lord Jagannatha and well-wishers,

Hare Krishna! We are delighted to invite you to join us in the Rath-Yatra 2024 at Sagar Island, the sacred place where the Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal. This is a rare opportunity to serve Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra, who shower unlimited mercy upon those who pull their chariot.

We are thankful to all the dwipvasis (island residents) and well-wishers, different departments of Government Administrations and police for law and order, who helped us to organize the successful Rath-Yatra for the last two years. With your kind support and cooperation, we were able to conduct a wonderful festival that attracted about 50,000 people as a symbol of peace and brotherhood from different parts of India and abroad. They experienced the joy and bliss of pulling the Rath along with colorful procession with dance troops and tableaux and ecstatic chanting of the holy names of the Lord Sri Hari by the devotees. Rath puja, repairing and preparation starts following the customs of Sri Kshetra Jagannatha Puri on Akshaya Tritiya.

We request you to kindly continue your support for the Rath-Yatra 2024, which will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024. The Rath will start from Rudra Nagar Krishi Mandi and stop at Chayer Gheri on the first day. The Return Rath-Yatra will start from Chayer Gheri and end at ISKCON Gangasagar Mandir at Road No. 5, Near Helipad on Monday, July 15, 2024.

We need your help to raise funds for the construction and decoration of the Rath, the arrangements for the prasadam distribution, the security and sanitation facilities, and the publicity and promotion of the event. The total budget for the successful Rath is 10 lakhs rupees. We appeal to you to kindly donate generously for this noble cause and make your life successful by pleasing the Lord of the Universe.

You can donate online through our website [ISKCON Gangasagar] or by visiting our temple personally.
